May Erlewine is a much-revered folk singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Traverse City, Michigan. Known for her emotionally intimate and socially conscious music, she has released more than 15 albums. Her work spans folk, Americana, and soul, often centering on themes of love, loss, resilience, and environmental advocacy. One of the Midwest’s most prolific and passionate songwriters, May has a gift for writing songs of substance that feel both fresh and soulfully familiar. Her newest album, What It Takes (2025), culminates decades of hard work and perseverance.
