Joe Crookston is a songwriter, guitarist, painter, fiddler, slide player, eco-village member, and believer in all things possible. Named 2016 Folk Alliance International Artist-in-Resident, he has played with Suzanne Vega, Dar Williams, David Francey, John McCutcheon, John Gorka, and Judy Collins. Joe’s songs are universal, his rhythm infectious, and in concert he is funny one moment and transcendent the next. He has released four albums, and in 2009, Able Baker Charlie & Dog went to #1 on the US folk/acoustic DJ charts and was awarded “Album of the Year” by the International Folk Alliance. His most recent release is NINE BECOMES ONE (2023-2025). Whether he’s picking his 48 Gibson, weaving through lap slide songs, or looping his fiddle, he will draw you in. Joe, who lives in Ithaca, New York, is also a songwriting and guitar teacher, and his artwork and paintings have been installed in many galleries, most notably The True North Gallery.
