Patty Larkin

with Kipyn Martin

Redefining the boundaries of the guitar-driven singer songwriter.

Patty Larkin is a visionary of sound and wonder, a real deal version of artistry made of equal parts guitar wizardry, vocals shot through with soul, and inventive lyrics that ripple across the terrain of the heart. Described as “riveting” (Chicago Tribune), “hypnotic” (Entertainment Weekly), and a “drop-dead brilliant” performer (Performing Songwriter), Larkin has captured audiences for over 30 years with imagination, enchantment, and technical artistry. Her songs have been covered by various artists and featured in television and film. With eleven studio albums and two live recordings under her belt, Larkin mines the intersections of poetry and song with her innovative fourteenth release, Bird in a Cage, which puts poems from ten notable poets to song, for a new and haunting collection that pulses with the magic of lyricism.
“An absolutely stunning guitarist, Larkin matches her instrumental chops as a vocalist and songwriter, making her a true triple-threat artist.”

She also tours with duo partner Allison Shapira, performing Joan & Joni: A Tribute to the Music of Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell. Accolades for Martin include multiple Gold Awards in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, as well as the Washington Area Music Association’s Award for New Artist of the Year. John Gorka, for whom Martin has opened, calls her “a beauty of a singer.”
“Martin writes intensely personal songs whose music and lyrics call to mind a young Joni Mitchell, but the first thing you notice, a la Garfunkel, is the voice.”
