Joe Crookston

with Roberta Lea

A blend of guitar mastery, story songs, humor, and unstoppable energy.

Joe Crookston is a songwriter, guitarist, painter, fiddler, slide player, eco-village member, and believer in all things possible. Named 2016 Folk Alliance International Artist-in-Resident, he has played with Suzanne Vega, Dar Williams, David Francey, John McCutcheon, John Gorka and Judy Collins. Crookston’s songs are universal, his rhythm infectious, and in concert, he is funny one moment and transcendent the next. He has released four albums, and in 2009, Able Baker Charlie & Dog went to #1 on the US folk/acoustic DJ charts and was awarded “Album of the Year” by the International Folk Alliance. Whether he’s picking his 48 Gibson, weaving through lap slide songs, or looping his fiddle, he will draw you in.
“Joe’s songs are powerful, simple, distilled lyrical paintings.”

A voice like cinnamon and a pen like butter.

Roberta Lea is a rising Norfolk, Virginia, artist who has no limits when it comes to expressing herself through song and telling a good story. She is a unique artist who blends soul, pop, RnB, and country with thought provoking lyrics. Lea has been described as having Tina Turner/Macy Gray vocal grit and being lyrically clever like George Strait. She was named one of “12 Artists to Watch in 2022” by Nashville Scene’s Country Almanac, and her single “Sweet Baby Ray” was awarded Song of the Year at the 2022 Veer Music Awards.
“Just a Taste, her debut EP of country material…[would] be a remarkable release for an established artist, and it’s one hell of a debut.”
